We have seen a weak cold front move into the area early this morning. That front has dropped temperatures for most of the area. The southwestern counties are still seeing readings in the mid and upper 50s. Elsewhere, temperatures got down to the upper 30s and low 40s, behind the front. This afternoon will not feel like a cold front moved in. We will be looking at mostly sunny skies, with light wind and a high temperature of 80°. The stronger front moves in by tomorrow morning.
Overnight, we will be seeing another, stronger, cold front pass through the region. This is going to increase clouds and filter down much colder air. We’ll drop down to 48° by tomorrow morning. However, high temperatures will be held in check by the front’s passing. Lubbock will be looking at a high temperature of only 58°. The wind will be increasing to 10-15 mph, so things will feel more like the low 50s. It will be a good sweatshirt day, especially after today.
