There won’t be much weird stuff going on today. We’re going to continue our trend of warm and dry weather, with the wind on the increase. The wind will be sustained from the southwest at 10-15 mph. That is why we’re going to see the warmer air this afternoon. There will be mostly sunny skies, with Lubbock seeing a high temperature of 86°. That is ten degrees above the average for today!
Saturday is going to start off with warm air and lows will not be low at all. Lubbock is looking at 65° by 8:00 am. We’ll continue to see mostly sunny skies during the day. We will be dry in the afternoon, with a high temperature of 87°. The wind will be from the south-southwest at 10-15 mph. That will all change before midnight, as a cold front advances through. The wind will increase and there will be isolated storms off the Caprock from 11:00 pm Saturday, until 7:00 am Sunday. By 7:00 am, that front will be through.
