An area of showers is weakening as it moves across Lubbock and central counties early on this Friday morning. We’ll see partly sunny skies for the rest of the day. There will be storms moving through, mainly north of Lubbock after 8:00 tonight. They will quickly move into the Rolling Plains and exit the area by 1:00 am. Any one of those storms could have large hail. Lubbock will make it to 87° this afternoon.
Skies will begin to clear off by mid-morning tomorrow. The afternoon is going to see sunny skies. That is thanks to a cool front that will sweep through the region by early Saturday morning. The wind will drop down to 5-10 mph in the afternoon. We’re going to see lower high temperatures, as Lubbock will hit a high of 78°. That is actually the average high for tomorrow.
