We are getting cooler air this afternoon, as a cold front makes its way down from the Rockies. We’ll see the cold front moving into the area by early afternoon. This will increase wind to 15-25 mph. Gusts will reach 35 mph at times. The wind will shift to the north and we will only get to a high temperature of 68°. Things will feel cooler, thanks to the wind blowing this afternoon.

Overnight, we will see the coldest air in quite some time. Now, the wind will help to keep temperatures up tonight. But, we’re still going to get mighty cold. The northwest counties will see lows near freezing. Central counties will get into the upper 30s. Lubbock will dip down to 38° by Tuesday morning. The afternoon is going to be sunny and cooler, with more wind at 10-20 mph. Lubbock will make it up to a high temperature of 64°.
