The air is still muggy outside, thanks to the moisture flowing in from the southwest. We’re already getting thunderstorms across southern and southeastern New Mexico at this time. We’re expecting showers and thunderstorms to increase across the area today. This afternoon, coverage of storms will get up to 50%. There will be pockets of heavy rain, so we will have to watch out for flooding. Never drive through flooded roads. We’ll see a high of 74° today.
Much of the same will be expected for tomorrow. We’re actually going to see lower high temperatures and not much of a temperature spread, thanks to the rain from Monday. Lubbock will only see a high temperature of 68°. There will be showers and thunderstorms in the area at 50%, once again. Rain will be heavy at times, so more flooding is possible. The storms will continue to move on in from the southwest to northeast.
