The clouds have returned, at least for the northern counties this morning. Those clouds will help to keep temperatures from plummeting too much. Lubbock was actually a degree shy from tying a 99 year old record low yesterday morning. We’re seeing temperatures in the low and mid 50s for most spots so far. This afternoon will see sunny skies and warmer air, with a high temperature of 85°.

Heading into Friday, we can expect to see lows in the mid and upper 50s once more. Lubbock will drop down to 59°, with more low 60s over in the Rolling Plains. The wind will stay out of the south tomorrow afternoon. That means that we will continue to see temperatures climbing closer to 90° in most locations. We’re going to see a high temperature of 86° here in Lubbock. Wind will be at 10-15 mph.
