LUBBOCK, Texas — Strong to severe storms are expected to develop tonight. A few isolated showers and storms are expected to pop up after 7 PM, with the bulk of the rain developing between 10 PM and midnight. Some of these storms could be strong to severe as most of the South Plains is in a slight risk for severe weather tonight. The primary threats are large hail and damaging winds, however, isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
Rain looks to continue into tomorrow with on and off showers and storms throughout the day. Fortunately, these storms do not look to be strong or severe as we are only in a general thunderstorm category. We’ll have some lingering rain showers on Wednesday, though many of us look to stay dry as much of the rain remains to the south.
Temperatures tomorrow and Wednesday look to stay in the 60s. Once the rain exits the region we’ll be left with some cloud cover but temperatures are already back into the 70s by Thursday.
