We’ve gotten a healthy amount of rain across the South Plains over the past couple of days. Over the past 48 hours, some areas have seen almost an inch of rain. Rain totals will continue to rise this evening as more rain is expected tonight and continuing into tomorrow. Any storms that develop this evening may not last overnight as the fuel for these storms shuts off. However, there could be a lone storm that may stick around overnight.
Tomorrow will be a repeat of today, with scattered storms developing across the region throughout the day. You may want to bring an umbrella to morning services as a few showers are possible in the morning time. Keep the umbrella with you though as the rain is expected to continue throughout the entire day tomorrow. Temperatures will also stay below normal as we’re only expecting to get into the low 80s once again tomorrow.
The start of the workweek is when everything changes. We start to dry out and warm up as well. Temperatures by midweek look to get back into the low to mid 90s and rain chances begin to dwindle. Through the end of the week looks to be dry, but we are watching for the potential for more rain to develop on Friday and lasting through the weekend.
