KLBK August 16th Midday Forecast

We have a good deal of rainfall early this morning in our northern counties and unfortunately did not reach many of the other counties across the South Plains. However, we have decent chances of seeing more rain into these other counties throughout the next couple of days though, but we just have to get through today. The main story for today will be the heat, with highs getting into the mid to upper 90s across the area. We’re not going to get much relief today as there is only a slight breeze out of the south southwest ranging from 5 to 10 mph. Clouds won’t be able to give us much relief either as much of the region will be dominated by sunshine throughout the day today. There is no rain in the forecast for this afternoon, however, like early this morning, we have the chance for rain to develop overnight tonight brushing through our northern counties.

Much of the rain will arrive on Friday lasting through the weekend, however, it’s not gong to be as widespread as we had last weekend. Friday and Saturday’s rain chances remain isolated at 10%, but Sunday would look like the better day for rain as there is a 20% chance. Unlike last weekend, we will not stay cool.Temperatures this weekend will be in the low to mis 90s and this trend looks to continue into next week. Next week we also look to dry out as of now. Have a great day!
