We’re starting off the day chilly with temperatures in the 30s so a jacket will be needed as you head out the door. Be sure to leave yourself extra time this morning for your commute to work as dense fog is enveloping much of the region. Most of the central South Plains is under a Dense Fog Advisory until 10 AM today. Visibility is less than a quarter mile with some spots near zero visibility. The fog will clear out later on in the morning leaving us with partly cloudy conditions across the region. High temperatures today will reach the low to mid 60s before crashing back into the 50s tomorrow after a passage of a cold front.

Clouds will begin to clear out overnight tonight leaving us with mostly clear conditions tomorrow. The winds will pick back up tomorrow becoming more breezy by the morning hours. Winds will be sustained out of the north at 15-20 mph gusting up to 30 mph. Keep in mind that tomorrow’s high temperature will only be in the mid 50s, and with the northerly wind it’ll feel much cooler than it actually is.

The first official day of Winter begins on Friday and it sure will not feel like it. High temperatures will be back up in the upper 60s to low 70s across much of West Texas making it feel more like the beginning of Fall. Sunny conditions continue into the end of the week and into the weekend with high temperatures falling back into the 50s by Saturday.

Have a great day!
