Today is actually the final full day of Autumn and it does not feel like it at all! We’re still getting this warm air mass over west Texas, so temperatures climbed up into the 70s for most locations. Now, we’re back down into the upper 60s. Skies will be clear tonight, so temperatures will drop back into the 30s, but not as cold as what we saw this morning. Thursday will kick off at 36°, with wind making it feel more like the upper 20s.
Wind will stay sustained at 10-15 mph from the southwest tomorrow, so we’ll get more warm air flowing into the region. In fact, we’ll see highs more than 20 degrees above the average and we’re talking about the start of winter! Winter officially begins at 10:28 tomorrow morning. We’ll have to wait to get the cold air in our area. Lubbock will actually see a high temperature of 74° on Thursday. The skies will be sunny, so we will not see any clouds out there at all.
