The warm, unusual October weather continued this afternoon. In fact, some spots of the Rolling Plains have been in the 90s this afternoon. We’re going to see big changes tonight, as a cold front will move in. Wind will gust to 50 mph as the front passes through. The clouds are already approaching Lubbock. Wind will increase by 7:00 pm. There will be isolated storms in the southern Rolling Plains. Any storm will have wind gusting to 70 mph. We’ll reach 44° by morning.

Sunday afternoon is going to be sunny, but the air will be much colder. That front will be gone by 4:00 am, taking the thunderstorms with them. We’ll see the wind stay at 10-20 mph through the day on Sunday. Lubbock will only see a high temperature of 65°. Highs will be in the low 60s in the northwestern counties. With clear skies and light wind Sunday night, lows will drop down into the 30s Monday morning.
