Short Term Forecast:
High clouds continue to stream across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains this afternoon and into tonight. This will keep us partly sunny today and mostly cloudy tonight. Highs this afternoon will warm back into the lower 70s. Keep in mind the normal high is 57° for December 1. It’ll be mild tonight as well with middle 40s. The normal low is around 30° this time of year.
Extended Forecast:
The extended forecast shows we’ll start a warming trend heading into the weekend here on the South and Rolling Plains. Highs will be back into the middle and upper 60s on Friday, the lower to middle 70s on Saturday and the middle and upper 70s on Sunday. We’ll start to cool back down next week as highs fall back into the upper 60s and lower 70s on Monday. It’ll get even colder on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs only the upper 40s and lower 50s. Forecast models are hinting at some slight precipitation chances Tuesday night and on Wednesday. Overnight lows over the weekend and early next week will be into the 40s. Lows will fall back into the 20s by the middle of next week.
