Today was a cooler and less windy day than yesterday. A cold front that passed through yesterday helped to pull in some colder air this afternoon allowing high temperatures to only get up into the mid 50s today. As that low pressure system pulls away from West Texas a ridge of high pressure will build in right behind that. This means that sunshine will dominate over the next several days, and temperatures will be way above average.

You’ll be able to feel the difference as early as tomorrow. Sunshine will dominate across the region and temperatures will quickly warm up into the mid 60s. We’ll keep the clear conditions on Sunday night giving us prime viewing conditions for the ‘Super Blood Wolf Moon’. This cool astronomical event is a total lunar eclipse that will reach it’s peak before midnight turning the moon a reddish color.

The unseasonable warmth continues into the beginning of the workweek as temperatures will soar into the mid to upper 70s across the South Plains. However, don’t get used to this as temperatures will drastically change on Tuesday thanks to a cold front dropping our temperatures nearly 30°.

Unfortunately this cold front will not bring any precipitation into the region, only an increase in cloud cover. In fact, the next several days look to remain dry.
