Today was a good start to the weekend as we had cooler than average temperatures across the South Plains thanks to morning cloud cover which helped to keep our temperatures down. We also had some rain across the South Plains this morning and throughout the day today. These showers are expected to continue into the night tonight, but are expected to diminish overnight. Tomorrow you could wake up to a shower or two and the chance for rain is expected to continue throughout the day tomorrow. Fortunately, there isn’t the chance for severe weather as there is only a thunderstorm outlook for tomorrow, however, there still could be a few rumbles of thunder across the area. Tomorrow remains partly cloudy for most of the area with highs near the average, however, temperatures are expected to increase throughout the week. Monday’s temperatures start off around average, but then we quickly heat up to the upper 90s, with the chance to have temperatures near the triple-digits by mid-week as sunshine reigns for the entire week. Unfortunately, we don’t see the chance for precipitation this week either as high pressure dominates.
