Today was a beautiful day with sunshine across the South Plains with right around average high temperatures. As we head into the night, a few clouds will stick around however, it will remain warm as lows get into the low 70s for most places. I hope you got the chance to enjoy these seasonable temperatures the past couple of days because unfortunately, we have triple-digits back in the forecast tomorrow. We’re ending the weekend with highs getting into the 100s once again, but fortunately, this will only be the case for tomorrow. We’re tracking a cold front early Monday morning that is going to bring cooler temperatures to the South Plains, and the potential for more rain.

However, before we can get the chance for cooler temperatures, we need to get through the triple-digits tomorrow. While most of the area will be hot and dry, there is the potential for storms to fire up tomorrow during the afternoon and evening hours. Some of these storms could be strong to severe as most of the South Plains is in a thunderstorm risk for tomorrow, however, some of the northern counties are in a marginal risk for severe weather. Make sure to stick with KLBK for any of the latest updates on this weather.

Once we get past tomorrow, temperatures drop drastically, and rain chances return to the South Plains for a good portion of the workweek.

Enjoy the weekend!
