Despite the humidity, today was a nice day with temperatures into the 80s and 90s and some clouds to shade us from the sun at times. We also had some rain across the area today, however, the showers and storms were not as scattered as they were yesterday. They also diminished much faster than yesterday with most of the rain gone by 6 PM this evening. Unfortunately, big changes are on the way as our chances for rain for the workweek are dwindling and our temperatures are getting hot again and returning to near normal. But before our temperatures rise back to near normal this week, there are still a couple days where we can see cooler than average temperatures.
Tonight we’ll get to 68° here in Lubbock with some spots becoming cooler and much of the South Plains seeing partly cloudy skies and dry conditions. Tomorrow we have the chance for more storms in the forecast at 10% throughout the day. Temperatures tomorrow will get up to 88° here in Lubbock, but areas off the Caprock will see higher temperatures. Tomorrow will be the last day for a decent chance at rain throughout the foreseeable future. Tuesday there is a slight chance for some rain to develop, but for the most part the day will be dry.
The extended forecast is showing by midweek temperatures getting back to the mid 90s with dry conditions. Hopefully we’ll have the chance for more showers within the next couple of days. Stick with the KLBK Weather Team for all of the latest updates.
Have a great week!
