Sunday was a beautiful day with temperatures into the 80s making it feel much more comfortable than it was the past several days when temperatures were into the triple-digits. Unfortunately that won’t last for long as we have more triple-digit heat in store this week. The good news is that we will have some much needed rain overnight on Sunday as a disturbance moves through the area. Some of these storms will be severe with gusty winds, heavy downpours, and hail. Severe thunderstorm watches are in place overnight for much of the southern counties. This watch means that the ingredients are there to produce severe thunderstorms, however, there is no immediate threat. If there is a severe thunderstorm warning for an area, that means that there is an immediate threat to the area.
These storms will push through the region overnight but will be out of the area by the time you wake up on Monday for the beginning of the workweek. Clouds will linger into Monday morning but will eventually push out of the area leading to a mostly sunny sky for Monday afternoon. Sunny conditions will continue for the rest of the week and the triple-digit heat makes a return on Tuesday lasting through most of the week. Remember to stay hydrated especially if you will be spending a lot of time outdoors.
Have a great week and stay cool!
