If you thought today was cold, just wait until tomorrow. Temperatures tonight will slowly fall into the teens and single digits overnight tonight. By the time you wake up tomorrow morning temperatures will feel sub zero across much of the region. Areas to the north of Lubbock will experience the most cold as feels like temperatures will be -5 to -10 degrees below zero. As you head out the door tomorrow morning you’ll want to wear as many layers as you can, and you won’t want to forget the hat and gloves. With wind chills this low, frostbite can form in minutes and hypothermia can set in easily.

Unfortunately, we won’t get much of a warm up tomorrow. High temperatures will struggle to reach the 30s by the afternoon, with most of us not even seeing the 30s. We’ll have a good deck of cloud cover tomorrow which will inhibit our temperatures from getting too warm.

Fortunately, there is a warm up in sight. Temperatures on Tuesday will already rebound back into the 40s. By Thursday, temperatures are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s. So we just have to get through the beginning of the workweek before a nice change is on the way.
