Skies are partly cloudy as we get going today. A weak cool front is progressing through the region as we speak. This is dropping temperatures into the mid 40s to the north. Lubbock will see the temperature drop down to the low 50s before sunrise. The wind will be at 10-15 mph today, with a high temperature of 84°. We’ll see a stronger cold front move into the area later tonight.
The stronger cold front will come through late tonight and tomorrow morning. This will bring in isolated showers and a few thunderstorms through 8:00 am. After that, expect cloudy skies and much cooler air. Lubbock is looking at a high temperature of only 55° tomorrow. Wind will be from the north-northeast at 10-15 mph, making it feel more like the upper 40s at times. There will be another round of light showers after 8:00 pm, this coverage will be at 10%.
