We’ll get more warm air to round out this work and school week. Even in the morning, low temperatures will be well above the average for this time of year. We’ll start the day with a temperature of 50°. Wind will hold steady at 10-15 mph from the west. That direction is what’s bringing in the warm and dry air. The high on Friday will be 81° in Lubbock. Highs to the east will be in the mid 80s.

By Saturday morning, expect to see cooler air. A cold front will move through the area by Friday afternoon. We’ll drop all the way down to 33°, with it feeling more like the low 20s with the wind. The afternoon will see wind from the east-southeast at 10-15 mph. So, the high temperature is going to drop down to only 60° in the afternoon. That will feel very cool after a few very warm days.
