As we move into the weekend, we’ll begin to talk about changes to the forecast. Friday night/early Saturday morning will begin to see isolated storms coming into the northern counties. Those isolated storms will stay at 10% during the day. Skies will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature of 91°. You’ll notice more moisture around, as well. So, it will feel more like 95°-97° outside. Be prepared for that.
A weak cool front is going to move in from northern New Mexico and stall in the area on Sunday. This will help to elevate the moisture and showers/storms in the area, as well. Coverage of storms by Sunday afternoon is looking to be at 30%. So, have the rain gear handy as you get out and get going on Sunday. We’re going to see lower high temperatures as well, thanks to the cloud cover and rain. Lubbock will reach a high of 88°.
