We will really be feeling the cold punch by the morning on Wednesday. We’ll get the skies clearing out, with wind only at 5-10 mph. The clear skies and light wind will help to drop the low temperature down to 26°. Lows will dip down into the upper teens across the northwestern counties. Please dress warm and get the heaters going. The afternoon is going to stay cool, with mostly sunny skies. Our high will only get to 49° in Lubbock. Low 40s to the northwest.
By Thursday morning, expect more cold air. We’ll once again see the mercury drop down to 27° at Lubbock. Lows will be near 20° for areas to the northwest. The clear skies and light wind will be the culprit. We’ll need to dress in layers for the early morning, as that is dangerously cold air. We’re going to stay chilly as we move through the day, even though we get mostly sunny skies. Lubbock will make it up to a high temperature of 48°.
