There is going to be a surge of very warm air and more wind as we move into Wednesday. The morning will start off with lows well above average. Lubbock will start the day at 38°. Wind will be on the rise Wednesday, as it will peak at 10-15 mph out of the southwest. The southwest wind is going to help us reach a high temperature of 74°. Skies are going to be cloudy, but we’ll still get that warm air in the afternoon.

We’ll continue to see cloudy skies as we move into Thursday. The clouds will help the low only get down to 46°. Wind is going to shoot up there to 20-25 mph, with some gusts reaching 40 mph at times. The high in Lubbock will make it up to 72°. A strong cold front will begin to move into the area Thursday night. This will bring us big changes by Friday morning. Things will stay dry in Lubbock Thursday, so we will break the all-time record dry spell. Thursday will be day 99 since we last day measurable precipitation in Lubbock.
