Things won’t be as cold as we move into Friday morning. Lows for Lubbock and east will actually remain above freezing. We’ll sit at 33°, with lows just below that to the west and northwest. Skies will remain sunny and the air, of course, will be dry. We’re going to watch as the high will rise up to 73°. Wind is going to be from the west at 10-15 mph, bringing in that warmer air from New Mexico.
There is still uncertainty in the forecast for the weekend. A cold front is going to move in, it just depends on when. It’s now looking like it’ll be Saturday afternoon/evening. This will have an effect on highs to the north and northwest. We’ll make it to 59° in Lubbock, with highs in the mid 60s to the southeast and anywhere from the mid 40s, to the low 50s in the northwest. We’ll keep an eye on it. The front will be dry, with wind at 10-15 mph.
