A weak cool front came through the area early this morning kicking up that west Texas wind. Wind this afternoon is going to be shifting to the southwest at 10-15 mph. That southwest wind is going to help to keep high temperatures above average across the region. Lubbock is going to make it up to a high of 68°. The wind is going to be a big issue tomorrow afternoon and evening. That wind will be sustained at 25-35 mph, with gusts to 45 mph ahead of a cold front that comes in very early Saturday morning. The high on Friday will reach 66°.
