With the slight weakening in the high pressure, highs will try to get lower as we move into the afternoon on Thursday. Our wind will remain at 10-15 mph, which is typical around here. We’re only going to make it up to 93° for the high. I say only, because it has been much warmer than that in recent days. As the ridge weakens and moves off to the east, we’ll begin to see clouds coming our way, as well as lower highs.

The changes will not really begin by Friday. That ridge will still be over us, but it won’t be as strong as it was earlier in the week. Expect light wind on Friday afternoon, with sunny skies and a high in Lubbock of 94°. Highs will begin to drop off by Saturday, as the ridge works its way out of the area. Highs will still remain in the low 90s, though.
