The air is going to be heating up as we round out the week and head into the weekend. High pressure will keep things dry for Friday, with the wind flow coming out of the west. That wind will increase to 10-15 mph in the afternoon, with higher end wind making it to 20 mph. That sinking air will keep skies sunny, with a high reaching 98° in Lubbock. There will be some triple digit heat in the Rolling Plains.

Triple digit heat is back for most locations for Saturday. The zonal flow pattern, which is west to east, will continue through the day Saturday. That means we will see more dry conditions and pretty hot air. Wind will remain at 10-15 mph, trying to help move some of that hot air around. We’ll continue to see sunny skies and dry air with a high temperature of 101°.
