A weak disturbance will be making its way into the area by Wednesday. This will help to increase clouds for the South and Rolling Plains. So, there will be a mix of clouds and sunshine in the area. The clouds will help to keep highs below average, as Lubbock will make it to 86°. That disturbance will bring just enough lift to create isolated storms, generally west of Lubbock. Coverage is going to be low, so we’re only looking at 10% as of now.
Much of the same for Thursday. A weak disturbance will help to bring in isolated thunderstorms to parts of the region. Coverage will stay at 10% in the afternoon hours. I’d say pack an umbrella in your car, just to be on the safe side. Otherwise, we’re looking at mostly sunny skies returning, with light wind. The warmer air will make a comeback for Thursday, as we’ll make it up to 90°. Highs will be higher than that moving into the weekend.
