There will be another round of isolated storms in the area on Thursday afternoon. Coverage is low, only 10%. These storms will be focused mainly in the Rolling Plains. For Lubbock, have an umbrella in the car, but it’s not looking likely that we’ll get a storm. It’s better to be safe, than sorry. The rest of the day will see more clouds than sunshine. We’ll get up to a high temperature of 87°, with wind at 5-10 mph.

Those isolated thunderstorms will clear the area by Friday. There will be leftover clouds, but they will just be spotty at best. So, skies will be mostly sunny and the air will be much warmer. The wind will increase to 10-15 mph in the afternoon. The high temperature in Lubbock is going to make it to 96°. I wouldn’t be surprised if we begin to see triple digits in the Rolling Plains by 3:00 pm. Stay safe if you’re spending time out in the heat.
