A stronger cold front will push through the area Friday night, into Saturday morning. This will really have an affect on high temperatures in the area. We’ll start the day in the mid 50s for most, with wind at 10-15 mph. That wind will hold at 10-15 in the afternoon, as well. Skies will be mostly sunny, but the highs will be much lower. Lubbock’s high will get to 72°, after spending most of the day in the upper 60s.
The wind will shift back to the southeast on Sunday, but it will stay at 5-10 mph. Morning lows will drop to the low 50s for most, with upper 40s in the northwestern counties. The afternoon is looking to be sunny and dry. With the wind direction back to the south, Lubbock will see warmer air. The high Sunday is going to get to 81°, which is actually still below average.
