The weekend is going to be split in two, in terms of highs. Saturday is the much warmer day. We’ll begin the day only at 64°, which is just a few degrees above the average. Our wind on Saturday will remain at 10-15 mph, shifting to the west in the afternoon. We’ll see a high of 95° in Lubbock, with locations off the Caprock reaching 100° again, but most spots there will stay in the upper 90s. Be safe outside!

A cold front is going to pass through the area on Sunday morning, giving us relief from three days of high heat in the region. We’re going to start the day in the low 60s, but the afternoon will see mostly sunny skies with highs only in the low 80s. Lubbock, in fact, will make it just to 80° in the afternoon. So, that is going to feel much better than the previous three days. Wind will be at 10-15 mph in the afternoon.
