Clouds will remain over the area for the day on Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms are back in the forecast, especially in the afternoon hours. There will be pockets of heavier rain and gusty wind with any thunderstorm that comes around. The coverage will begin to shift to the east after 5:00 pm. The forecast is still tricky, with some models keep us completely dry. That won’t be the case, but the storms will be scattered. The high tomorrow will reach 80°.

We’ll see things clearing out Friday from west to east. Thew clouds will linger with more peeks of sunshine from the state line to the western counties by 5:00 pm Friday. The Rolling Plains will be the best spot to see any leftover storms on Friday afternoon. By sunset, things should be drying out for the entire area. We’re looking at partly sunny skies, with a high temperature of 86° for Lubbock. With highs in the low 80s for locations to the west.
