The air will be cold once again as we move into Friday morning. Lows will be dropping down into the upper 30s for most, near freezing to the northwest. Wind is going to be out of the south-southwest during the day at 10-15 mph. But that south-south west wind direction will bring in warmer air, as highs stay above average. Lubbock will make it to a high temperature of 65° in the afternoon. The air is staying dry, which is not good. We need rain, but will not see it any time soon.
We’ll move into the weekend and will get warmer air returning. So, wind will drop to 5-10 mph on Saturday, making it a great day to spend outside if you can. We’re only going to start the day at 44°, which is still chilly, but not as cold as early in the week. The afternoon will see sunny skies and warmer air, with a high temperature of 69°. Highs will reach the low 70s over in the Rolling Plains.
