There will be wind from the southwest on Thursday, which is going to bring in even warmer air across west Texas. The wind will remain light, but it will do just enough to get Lubbock up to 82°. Highs will climb up to the mid 80s off the Caprock and upper 70s to the northwest. The air will remain dry, so things will not feel too warm and there will be just enough of a breeze to make it comfortable.

The warmest day over the next seven is going to be on Friday. The flow pattern is going to continue to come from the south-southwest. Surface wind speed will increase to 10-15 mph, so we’ll see the warm air pumped in more quickly. Expect a high temperature in Lubbock to reach 85°, with highs near the 90° mark in the Rolling Plains. Northwest counties will see highs in the low 80s.
