The first cold front over the next seven days will move through by early Saturday morning. That is going to shift the wind around to the north all day. It will be sustained at 10-15 mph. The cold front will keep Lubbock dry, but we will see a temperature drop for the high. We’ll top out at 78°, which is right near where we should be for this time of year. That wind will help to make it feel cooler, but only a tad. Skies will be sunny, with no clouds interfering with your outdoor plans.

The wind will shift back around to the southwest by Sunday. That is going to pump in warmer air and more wind. The sustained wind is going to be at 15-20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph easily. We’ll continue to see sunny skies and no clouds area-wide. With all that said, Lubbock is going to climb up to a high temperature of 89°. Highs will be into the low 90s off the Caprock. We’ll see a stronger cold front moving into the area by early Monday morning. That will drastically change things for next week.
