High pressure and blue skies will keep things toasty by Wednesday. The wind will not help, as it will drop down to 5-10 mph. The story will be of the warmth, as we’ll get highs well over average for just about every reporting site. Lubbock is looking at another sunny and very warm afternoon, as we make it up to a high temperature of 94°. I wouldn’t be surprised if highs were near 100° in the Rolling Plains.
Thursday is the last, full day, of summer. We’re going to be feeling that summer time warmth before a pattern change hits us as we transition into Autumn. The wind will once again increase to 10-15 mph by afternoon. Otherwise, expect to see more sunshine, no clouds and a very warm day. Lubbock is going to make it to a high temperature of 93°. A Pacific flow pattern will change things up by Friday and for the weekend.
