The Pacific low is going to drop temperatures by Sunday, but increase showers and storms across the region. We’re looking at cloudy skies on Sunday, with showers and thunderstorms covering 40% of the area. There will be heavy rain at times, as well. We’ll see cloudy skies, muggy air and a high temperature in Lubbock of 78°.
The showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase in coverage and intensity by Monday. Skies will be cloudy, with Lubbock reaching a high of 76°. The showers and storms will be at 70%. There will be plenty of heavy rain and flooding, especially in low lying areas, rural roads and near playa lakes. There is going to be 200% of normal moisture in the air, so that is why we’re seeing the heavy rain and why there will be so much rain on Monday.
