There will be changes in the forecast as we move into the weekend. The low pressure system responsible for the cool air and rain will be moving out of the area. That will give way to the sunshine returning and warmer air. We’re going to stay cloudy on Saturday, with isolated showers sticking around through early afternoon. That coverage is only 10%. By the evening, we’ll see cloudy skies and cool air. The high will reach 71°, but kickoff for Oklahoma State and Texas Tech will see 66°. So dress warm!
By Sunday, the pattern will do a complete 180° turn from where we were this week. A low pressure system will dig into the western United States, which puts us under southwest flow. So, the air will warm up and the skies will begin to clear. There will be mostly sunny skies, with a high in Lubbock of 80°. The wind will be at 10-15 mph, so that will help to make it feel a tad cooler.
