KLBK October 4th Midday Forecast

Happy almost Friday everyone! There’s good news on this Thursday as rain and cooler temperatures in the forecast. However, if you’re hoping for cooler weather for the end of the week, it’s not looking like that, but we can expect rain as soon as today. Today will unfortunately be warm with high temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90, but we can get some relief in the the form of rain cooled air. Rain is expected to develop this afternoon and evening, but the chances remain isolated. If you have any outdoor plans tonight have a back up just in case as rain can be expected into the nighttime. Some of these storms could be severe as Lubbock and areas to the north and east are in a marginal risk for severe weather. The main threats will be damaging winds, moderate sized hail, heavy downpours, and lightning.

Tomorrow will be a repeat of today with highs in the upper 80s to almost 90s and isolated rain chances throughout the day. Much of the same area is in a marginal risk for severe weather tomorrow, but this time not including Lubbock. However, the threats will remain the same.

Things calm down during the weekend, in terms of severity. While the rain sticks with us, things don’t look to be as severe as today or tomorrow. Rain chances increase into the weekend as a cold front pushes through the region early Saturday morning. This brings our rain chances to 30% both Saturday, Sunday, and continuing into Monday. Not only is this cold front bringing rain into the forecast, but it’s also bringing more Fall-like temperatures as well. There is still a decent uncertainty about how cool we’ll actually get on Saturday, but we can at least expect temperatures into the 70s.

Have a great day and enjoy the rain!
