Short Term Forecast:
After a cold start this morning in the 20s, we warmed up nicely this afternoon across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains with highs topping out in the lower and middle 60s with lots of sunshine. The weather looks great this evening for Miracles Christmas Parade on 34th Street and Candlelight at the Ranch here in Lubbock. It’ll be clear and cold again tonight with middle and upper 20s across the area. Sunday’s weather will be sunny and even warmer, with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Just like this evening, the weather will be great for the opening of Santa Land at Mackenzie Park here in Lubbock Sunday evening.
Extended Forecast:
Forecast models continue to show a dry weather pattern holding in place across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains over the next seven days. Some high clouds will pass over the area on Monday, otherwise we’ll be sunny pretty much all next week. After highs near 70 on Monday, we’ll fall back to near 60 on Tuesday. We’ll climb back into the middle 60s by midweek before falling back into the middle 50s on Thursday. Highs will climb back into the lower and middle 60s by Friday and next Saturday. Overnight lows will hold in the lower to middle 30s next week.
