KLBK Saturday PM Weather Update (1/13/18)

Here is your updated forecast from the KLBK First Warning Weather Center as of Saturday afternoon:

Short Term Forecast:
After a chilly start today the days with lows in the 20s, we warmed up into the upper 40s and lower 50s this afternoon for areas on the Caprock. It was colder across the Rolling Plains where highs reached the lower to middle 40s. Overall, temperatures are still running below average for January 13. Another chilly night is ahead for the South Plains and the Rolling Plains, but it will not be as cold with lows into the lower to middle 20s. Sunny and warmer weather is expected on Sunday with highs back into the middle and upper 50s.

Extended Forecast:
The extended forecast bring another shot of colder air into the south plains and the rolling plains for the coming week. Highs will drop back into the upper 40s on Monday. It’ll turn colder on Tuesday with highs only in the lower 30s. We’ll climb back into the upper 30s on Wednesday. Warmer weather will return for the later half of the week with middle to upper 40s on Thursday and middle to upper 60s on Friday. Highs drop back into the upper 50s and lower 60s by next Saturday. Overnight lows will be in the middle to upper 20s Monday morning. Lows will fall into the 10s Tuesday and Wednesday morning and climb back into the 20s Thursday morning. Lows climb back into the 30s by Friday morning and next Saturday morning. The overall forecast remains dry, although a few models are trying to show some light drizzle on Monday evening and Monday night. The European model is showing a slight chance of precipitation on Thursday, but the American and Canadian models are showing dry weather.
