Here is your updated forecast from the KLBK First Warning Weather Center as of Sunday evening:
Short Term Forecast:
It was another warm and windy day across the South Plains and the Rolling on this Sunday. We started out with fog this morning and ended the day with some blowing dust in spots. Highs on Sunday ranged from the middle 70s to the lower 80s on the Caprock. It was even warming across the Rolling Plains were highs ranged from the lower to the middle 80s. It’ll stay breezy this evening and tonight under a clear sky. Lows will be in the upper 30s to the lower 40s. Mostly sunny and cooler weather is expected on Monday with highs back into the lower to middle 60s. It’ll be breezy in the morning, but the wind will decrease and become light by afternoon.
Extended Forecast:
Cooler weather will return to the South Plains and the Rolling Plains for the first half of the work and school week. Highs on Monday will fall back into the lower to middle 60s. It will be cooler on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60. The later half of the week will bring around round of warmer weather to the area. Highs will climb back into the upper 60s to lower 70s on Thursday. We’ll warm into the middle to upper 70s on Friday and into the middle 70s on Saturday. We’ll cool back down into the lower 60s by next Sunday.
Colder mornings are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday morning was we fall back into the middle to upper 20s. Upper 20s to lower 30s are expected Thursday morning. It will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s Friday morning and in the middle 40s on Saturday morning. Lows fall back into the middle 30s on Sunday morning.
All of the forecast models are showing a dry forecast across the South Plains and Rolling Plains for this week and next weekend.


Drought Update:
Extreme and severe stage drought conditions continue across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains, according to the latest update of the U.S. Drought Monitor. As of Sunday afternoon, only 0.20″ of rainfall has fallen in Lubbock, so far, this year.
