Here is your updated forecast from the KLBK First Warning Weather Center as of Sunday evening:

Short Term Forecast:
A weak cold front moved across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains on this Sunday. The front brought a few drops of rain in spots, a gusty wind and even some blowing dust. Officially, a trace of rain fell at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport. Looking over the data from the West Texas Mesonet, a few spots in the Rolling Plains picked up a few hundredths of an inch of rain. We didn’t expect much rain today and the forecast stayed on key. Highs and lows today were warmer than the forecast model data showed back on Saturday. A clear sky has returned to the area this evening and the wind is also backing off as well. It’ll be cooler tonight with lows back into the upper 20s. Monday will be sunny, but a few high level cirrus clouds may stream across the area. Highs will warm back into the lower and middle 60s.

Extended Forecast:
Even warmer weather is expect on Tuesday across the South Plains and Rolling Plains with highs back into the lower and middle 70s. We’ll still be in the upper 60s on Wednesday, but it will be windy with blowing dust. We cool back down into the upper 40s on Thursday. There is a very small chance for rain showers on Thursday as well. Friday will warm back into the upper 50s before we cool into the upper 40s on Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will be in the 30s for Tuesday – Thursday morning, before dropping back into the 20s Friday morning and into the weekend.
