Short Term Forecast:
We had perfect weather here in Lubbock and across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains on this Sunday. High temperatures topped out into the upper 60s and lower 70s across most of the area. It was a little cooler back across the northwestern counties today with only middle 60s. We’ll stay clear tonight with lows falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s. Forecast models have not been handling overnight low temperatures well the last few days. We got down to 22° this morning in Lubbock, whereas the forecast models had us in the upper 20s. It’ll be sunny on Monday with highs back into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Some high clouds may drift back into the area by late afternoon and early evening as a cold front moves into the region. 

Extended Forecast:
Forecast models continue to show a dry weather pattern holding in place across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains over the next seven days. Highs will fall back into the upper 50s and lower 60s on Tuesday. We’ll warm back into the middle 60s on Wednesday before cooling back into the middle 50s on Thursday. High temperatures will climb back into the lower and middle 60s by Friday and next weekend. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s through this week. It’ll be a little warmer at night over the weekend with middle 30s.
