Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been another cloudy, cool, foggy and rainy day across the South Plains with highs ranging from the mid-40’s to the low 60’s. Thunderstorm chances will increase drastically this evening as a line of strong to severe thunderstorms pushes into the region tonight. We are under the Slight and Enhanced Risk categories for severe storms so large hail, damaging wind gusts and an isolated tornado threat are expected. The time frame with the highest risk for these severe storms will be from 8PM tonight until about 5AM tomorrow morning. Then after this thunderstorm event ends, windy conditions will take over with blowing dust expected throughout the day on Wednesday. Winds will gust up to 70 MPH so make sure to secure items that can get blown around, including but not limited to barbecue grills, trampolines, and trash bins. Finally, temperatures will remain cool over the next few days with a warm up expected next week.
