Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been another beautiful and sunny day across the South Plains with highs moving back into the upper 70’s. This warming trend will continue through the end of the work week with highs jumping into the upper 80’s on Thursday and then the low 90’s on Friday. Sunshine will remain abundant throughout the next few days but wind speeds will start to increase drastically on Friday afternoon. We will also see a small cool down over the weekend. This is all due to our next cold front that will arrive on Saturday. Temperatures will drop into the low to mid 80’s on Saturday and Sunday and winds will kick up into the 20-40 MPH range. This means that blowing dust is expected yet again and fire weather danger will be an issue over the weekend and throughout the beginning of next week. A second front will arrive Sunday evening into Monday bringing another cool down and a slight possibility for some much needed rain so make sure to stay tuned for updates.
