Happy Wednesday everyone! With the front remaining stalled out to our South, we are seeing storms fire up in the Permian Basin which may move into the Southern portions of the South Plains late this afternoon and early this evening. Some of these storms could be severe so make sure to stay weather aware. Your Thursday will start out sunny and warm just like the past few days, but by the afternoon hours, the dryline will be set up to our West, bringing another round of strong to severe thunderstorms that will be potentially similar to what we saw on Tuesday. At this time though, the Storm Prediction Center only has us under the Marginal Risk Category. Storm chances will be minimal on Friday and Saturday with hot temperatures and sunshine expected. Then beginning on Saturday night through Sunday morning, a stronger cold front will transverse the area, bringing quite the cool down and another chance for some showers and thunderstorms. Despite our storm chances throughout the week, we will still see abundant sunshine so it is imperative to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated as well.
