Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been a windy and hot day across the South Plains with highs back in the low 90’s. Unfortunately, we remained dry for much of today but we watch for our next two rounds of storms to arrive within the next 48 hours. The first will come late tonight through early tomorrow morning with our second, stronger set of storms starting Wednesday night and continuing through Thursday morning. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Central and Eastern portions of the South Plains under the Marginal and Slight Risk categories for severe storms on Wednesday evening. Biggest threats will be large hail, damaging wind gusts at 65+MPH, and an isolated tornado threat. Despite our many storm chances, temperatures will remain hot in the mid-80’s to the low 90’s on Wednesday and Thursday with a minor cool down into the upper 70’s on Friday. Finally, sunshine will return on Thursday and stick around through the beginning of next week!
