Happy Monday everyone! It has been another mild day across the South Plains with temperatures remaining below average and more sunny skies. However, with ample moisture across the region, along with the available instability factors present across the area, we are watching for our next chance for severe storms. Storms should start to pop up mid-afternoon ahead of the upcoming cold front that will clear the region by tomorrow evening. The Storm Predication Center has placed every county in the South Plains except Hall County under the Slight Risk Category for severe storms. We are expecting the possibility of large hail, damaging wind gusts 60+MPH, and an isolated tornado threat. These storms will decrease in intensity overnight but continue through the morning hours on Tuesday. After that, we are expecting abundant sunshine and a rapid warm up in temperatures through this upcoming Saturday.
